I am a Mobile native and have recently returned from living in southern Illinois where my husband is serving in the United States Coast Guard along the Mississippi River. I am a graduate of the Mobile County Public School System and attended Nan Gray Davis Elementary, Hankins Middle School, and Theodore High School.
I earned a scholarship to the University of South Alabama where I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Continuing my education at USA, I entered a Master of Science program where I studied plant populations in forest and wetlands of coastal Baldwin County, AL. After completing my masters, I began teaching Biology at the University of South Alabama and surveying wetlands in Baldwin County for Auburn University.
In January 2015, I accepted a teaching position at Hankins Middle School; in this position I taught 6, 7, and 8th grade science. I continued teaching at HMS until summer 2017 when my family was transferred to Missouri. While living in Illinois, I spent some time as a stay at home mom and eventually went back to teaching at McKendree University.
I am happy to be back in Alabama and I am looking forward to a great year at SMS!
